Change the size parameter in the dropdown menu from the default “Fixed” to “Pressure.”.Doing this will reveal the Calligraphic Brush Options for that brush. To vary the width of a brush stroke with pressure sensitivity, double click on the first Calligraphic brush in the Brush Panel - the first brush in the top row of the Brush Panel.Using your Wacom tablet’s pressure-sensitive pen, however, you can vary the width of the brush stroke based on how hard you physically put your pen to the tablet. The results will likely look somewhat boring - that is because there isn’t any variation to your brush stroke: by default, the stroke maintains the same width from the beginning to the end. Next, simply press your pen to the tablet and draw a stroke across your document.Note: there are five brush types in all, including Scatter, Art, Bristle, and Pattern experiment with these to see how they work. Not to worry though, the default Calligraphic brush is the most common brush type for drawing. If you are familiar with brushes in Photoshop, this panel may look a bit sparse. Select the Paintbrush tool from the toolbox, and then chose a brush from the Brush Panel. This method offers a more familiar drawing experience, particularly with a Wacom tablet. But when you use the Paintbrush tool, you simultaneously apply a brush stroke as you draw. You create these paths using any number of tools, such as the aforementioned Rectangle and Line tools. In most instances, drawing in Illustrator involves creating vector paths and then applying various brushes to those paths to achieve a desired appearance. Each possesses unique behaviors, which are beneficial for different approaches to drawing. There are two different brush tools in Illustrator: the Paintbrush Tool and the “Blob Brush” Tool. The video below walks you through just how to do so, or read on for even more detail. And while using shapes, lines, and curves with the Rectangle, Line, and Pen tools is the standard way to use software like Illustrator, you can use a Wacom pen tablet or display to draw directly in Illustrator. Some artists and illustrators prefer to use vectors. If you’re a beginner, the main idea is that vector graphics can be resized however large or small you’d like without losing any quality, while raster graphics can’t. ![]() One of the primary reasons is that design software like Adobe Illustrator typically uses vector graphics as opposed to Photoshop’s raster graphics. While most people who draw or paint digitally use a program optimized for doing so - Clip Studio Paint, Rebelle, Corel Painter, or Adobe Photoshop - some prefer instead to work in software programs optimized for design work. ![]()

For your 8K TV, you may want to wait until 8K streaming actually becomes a thing. We tested it on both a 4K screen and a years-old 1080p screen and both looked crisp and streamed in perfectly. PCloud and SpiderOak ONE have strong security, but pCloud requires you to buy an add-on to use private encryption while SpiderOak ONE doesn’t. If you need extra protection for your data and don’t mind paying top dollar for it, read our Tresorit review. SpiderOak ONE doesn’t offer two-factor authentication to new users, though some legacy users have it. They are SAS 70 Type II compliant and classified as Tier 3 by the Uptime Institute. Though there’s no unencrypted data to steal, SpiderOak has data centers that can withstand virtual and physical attacks, earthquakes, floods and fires. That peer-to-peer approach is a good method to further protect your privacy. Metadata is encrypted when being shared between devices. The service doesn’t keep a central database of your file metadata, but creates a local database on your computer. Your files will be encrypted with AES 256-bit and two-factor authentication is available. Once your data reaches a data center, it will be replicated across at least five servers. Private encryption ensures that only you can read your data and two-factor authentication is useful if someone steals your password. Encryption algorithms can be AES 128-bit or 256-bit, while TLS/SSL protects your data during transfer. To combat that, cloud security uses protocols that protect your data during transfer and encryption that works in-transit and at-rest. They might try to steal your login credentials, too. You command all these mechanical pieces using rules. There are glyphs which bond elements together when they pass over them, and some which transform elements into different ones. There are tracks which transport them across the table. You’ll use arms to pick up and move elements or rotate them in place. You perform these actions by placing your elements and components on a table divided into hexes. It’s your job to combine them from a predefined set of elements and components, transmuting air into salt, quicksilver into higher and higher grades of metal. It might be booze to bolster an elderly soldier’s courage or a ladder to help stage a robbery, but whatever you’re making, it’s a set configuration of elements-air, water, fire and earth-and various types of metal. In each puzzle you’re tasked to produce a specific alchemical product. If you bounced off SpaceChem’s cold abstractness (I did) or felt bamboozled by Shenzhen I/O’s arcane complexity (me too), you might find yourself captivated by this one. But despite Opus Magnum’s fantastical setting, in which you play an alchemist caught between warring Germanic families, it’s probably his most accessible yet. He went on to make games about electronics (Shenzhen I/O), computer chips (TIS-1000), and creating factories for aliens in the first-person Infinifactory. Magnum is probably most similar to his first and best-known, SpaceChem, in which you build chemistry machines. Opus Magnum is the latest in a series of similar machine-making games to which developer Zach ’Zachtronics’ Barth has apparently devoted his creative life. Flexible, intricate, demanding and deeply fulfilling, this has to be one of the very best puzzle games of the year, if not the decade. It’s rare to play a game that provides such intense satisfaction, driven by a perfect balance of clearly defined and self-driven challenge. And by gosh, once you get into this puzzle game about building incredible alchemical machines, you’ll feel the buzz of working great over and over. If I’ve got the Latin right, Opus Magnum means “work great”. ![]() It is an extremely useful feature because it meant I could safely test out new ideas without potentially ruining the work I had already done. Thankfully, you aren’t locked into only one strategy, as Opus Magnum lets you save and duplicate machines so you can play around and experiment with different solutions. So Opus Magnum becomes a game of careful optimization toward each of the tips of that triangle, with different goals requiring completely different designs within the same level. Sometimes, going faster means spending more money, while building small often means moving slowly. Steam Workshop.įrequently, those three qualities are in direct conflict with each other. There are three criteria it keeps track of: How long it takes you to assemble the target product six times, how many hex tiles you take up while doing it, and how much all the machine parts you’ve used cost. There’s no mandatory score target you have to hit, and no goal beyond creating a functioning machine, but that doesn’t mean Opus Magnum doesn’t challenge you. Every puzzle gives you an alchemical product to create and near-infinite freedom to build the machine that creates it. That takes some doing, because there’s no “correct” solution to anything. That mix of science and magic reinforces the idea that anything is possible, but it’s going to take work to figure out how. The machines you build move and shift with satisfying, mechanical clunks that help make the 2D art pop as they operate. ![]() 7/21/2023 0 Comments Sylo ren![]() ![]() Kylo kills the original Ren in a lightsaber duel, thus becoming the new Master of the warrior clan with Snoke’s approval. So, when Ben is 10 years old, Leia and Han send their son to train as a Jedi Apprentice under Leia’s brother, Luke Skywalker. Leia grew worried about Ben, seeing parallels between her son’s behaviors and the darkness that consumed her father, Anakin, eventually leading to his downfall as Sith Lord Darth Vader-a familial connection kept hidden from young Ben. That being said, Organa’s political career and Solo’s smuggling business often left Ben lonesome and desperate for a semblance of human connection. He was a fairly happy child, content in the presence of his mother and father, and he demonstrated strong abilities with the Force early on in his life. He was named after Obi-Wan “Ben” Kenobi, the Jedi Master who aided in Leia’s rescue from the Death Star only five years earlier. Who is Ben Solo? Who are Ben Solo’s parents?īen Solo is the son of Leia Organa and Han Solo, born in 5 ABY on the day the Galactic Civil War officially came to an end. Please note that this character guide is based on the current canon as defined by Lucasfilm. Warning: The following article contains major spoilers for the Star Wars franchise. From his arrival in The Force Awakens to his eventual redemption, Ben Solo’s arc is not only demonstrative of the significance of lineage and personal history but also captures the impact of love, connection, and belonging. Portrayed with immense depth through the meticulous character work of Academy Award nominee Adam Driver, Solo is one of the most compelling figures of the sequel trilogy. There is perhaps no character that embodies the significance of the past and the possibilities of the present better than Ben Solo, initially introduced as the villainous Kylo Ren. Their familial strength in the Force and the push-and-pull between Light and Dark adds an additional complication to your typical family drama. And in the Skywalker family, these connections are all the more significant. Source: Data from CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics (2004).īecause the lattice energy depends on the product of the charges of the ions, a salt having a metal cation with a +2 charge (M 2+) and a nonmetal anion with a −2 charge (X 2−) will have a lattice energy four times greater than one with M + and X −, assuming the ions are of comparable size (and have similar internuclear distances). Note that r 0 may differ between the gas-phase dimer and the lattice. In such an arrangement each cation in the lattice is surrounded by more than one anion (typically four, six, or eight) and vice versa, so it is more stable than a system consisting of separate pairs of ions, in which there is only one cation–anion interaction in each pair. While Equation 8.1 has demonstrated that the formation of ion pairs from isolated ions releases large amounts of energy, even more energy is released when these ion pairs condense to form an ordered three-dimensional array ( Figure 7.8 "Definition of Ionic Radius"). These properties result from the regular arrangement of the ions in the crystalline lattice and from the strong electrostatic attractive forces between ions with opposite charges. They are not easily deformed, and they melt at relatively high temperatures. Ionic compounds are usually rigid, brittle, crystalline substances with flat surfaces that intersect at characteristic angles.
