The display features the familiar Romulan screen shape and multi-coloured Romulan character letters. The panel is a rectangular piece of smoked acrylic in the LCARS (Library Computer Access and Retrieval System) style and displays a detailed cross-section of a ‘Romulan D’Deridex class’ warbird depicting a computer core, a navigational deflector and warp nacelles. Judging from the reaction to a story about control panels I shared on our Facebook page recently, it would seem many others do too. Having a graphic design background, I often find my gaze lingering over graphic pieces in films like control panels and signage as well as furniture and decor.
